Made in Italy Gears to repair a non-ejiecting Macintosh floppy drive
This little gear is the perfect spare better then the original, it's been produced by injiection molding and not with any 3D printer. The OMRON eject mechanism is present in both of the 2M and 800K Macintosh floppy Drive ( SONY MP-F75W, MP-F51W or MFD-51W). I repaired dozens of these drive in the last years testing the quality and durability of my solution, i started this gear project in the beginning of 2015 publishing some references into Macforum.com by December of the same year.
Gears updated today in May 2024 are improved by an updated steel mold for the material used with the injection molding; i use the POM (polyoximethylene) that is one of the best thermoplastic for gears, it gives to the gear a self-lubricating, durable, rigid appearance with reduced friction that improve the overall life of the OMRON ejector mechanism. There was nothing wrong with the previous gears, but I decided to improve them after more than 10 years with the aim of reducing costs in favor of the trust I continue to have from all classic Macintosh computer enthusiasts all over the world.
Through the injection molding process, it is possible to create gears that can just perfomr better any 3D printer, guaranteeing unparalleled performance and durability. While polyamides have been the go-to material for gears over the past decades, the today evidence suggests their degradation after their aging of 20-30 years.
The Macintosh will remain operational and fully functional with its floppies for many years to come; it is a true piece of history to be preserved. ^_^

To easily repair and replace the gear, only two screws (+) and a plug need to be disassembled from the drive
Following pictures are example where the gear need to be changed; to notice the dark-orange color of the last completely destroyed gear due to its advanced stage of Oxidation :

with a little flat screwdriver moving the rigid black-plastic hook gently :
