The squirrel appears against a rich pattern of flowers, based on the mille-fleurs tapestries. Our native red squirrels are usually found in coniferous woods and they feast on hazelnuts. They make nests out of twigs and leaves in the fork of a branch high up in the tree canopy. With the introduction of the grey squirrel in the 1800’s, the red squirrel has declined and become isolated in areas of Scotland, Northumberland, Lake District, Anglesey, Brownsea Island and Isle of Wight. This decorative plaque is an ideal addition to any kitchen or garden. This 9.8cms x 9.8cms tile is created in a unique range of intricate handcrafted bas relief in natural terracotta which are full of detail and texture by our design team whose creators decorative tiles and ceramic murals which can be seen all over the country.
