This charming Christmas story is bound in tan paper covers with a red string binding and a small cover illustration of a cherub and a wreath. This is one of several Christmas booklets produced by Walter Kahoe (with occasional assistance from his wife Mildred) under his Rose Valley Press imprint. After moving to Philadelphia in 1940 and joining the medical department of J.B. Lippincott Co., Kahoe began The Rose Valley Press, printing and binding several hundred little books as Christmas presents. The press did non-Christmas books as time permitted. There is no author listed for this little book, which tells the story of Phero, the man who became known as St. Christopher. Book is in very good condition with very faint fading at cover edges, some wear to ribbon at spine, a few spots of soil. Small one-color illustrations appear throughout. Book is about 4"x5"
