Beautifully crafted U.S. Marine Corps keepsake box with six flag holder holes on each side. Outside diameter is approximately 16” x 11” x 4”. Inside diameter for keepsakes is approximately 12-1/2” x 8-1/2” x 2-1/2”. Unfortunately, I am not certain of the type of wood used. It appears to be either a maple, cedar, or pine. It has a beautiful stain that was applied that really enhances the appearance of this fine memento.

There are no artist markings on this item, so I do not know its origin, but it displays incredible attention to detail, and was obviously constructed by a talented craftsman. The flag holder holes on either side of the box are about 2 inches deep so this would look even better with flags installed.

This keepsake box is used, and does have a few imperfections, including the following: there is a slightly noticeable delamination in the lower right corner of the top cover where it appears that a sticker was applied at one time, perhaps a price sticker. It measures 1-1/2“ x 1“. There is also a small scratch in the upper right corner of the top cover that measures approximately 1-1/2” inches length. This is light enough that it appears it could probably be sanded out, but I’m not an expert on that. There is also a small crunch on the lower left corner of the top cover. I have tried to illustrate all these flaws in the photos. There are also other small imperfections here and there, but overall this is a really beautiful piece and would make an exceptional gift for the Devil Dog in your life.
