Here we offer a very rare paste-over issue of the 1964 first pressing (U.S.) in mono of the The Beatles' Capitol debut album, Meet the Beatles, rushed out on the heels of an unexpectedly-successful hit single "I Want to Hold Your Hand". Meet the Beatles  was mixed specially for Capitol, and the mono mix was designed to just explode out of your radio with a raw, hard-rocking Mersey sound. (I'll never forget when I first played my own copy.) When sales of Meet the Beatles went through the roof after their Ed Sullivan appearance, Capitol ran out of cardboard sleeves and year-old sleeves from less-successful artists were repurposed for Beatle service. In this case, they took a stack of Vic Damone My Baby Loves to Swing sleeves and wrapped them in new Meet the Beatles paste-downs. This copy has been neatly peeled a few inches, so it is easy to see the alteration. Includes the original paper record sleeve.

The album appears in very good condition with some sleeve scuffs. Album ships in an acid-free sleeve. From the runout groove: Side 1: T1-2047-T12; Side 2: T2-2047-T2.  The cover has only minor edgewear and soiling (please see pics).  Bottom edge of album pocket has 3-inch split; top edge is intact; paper record sleeve is intact. Altogether, a truly excellent copy of the complete package of this legendary album!
