"Jacob steals Esau's blessings & Jacob's Ladder"

The Stealing of the Blessings is a biblical story that appears at the end of Parashat Toldot, in chapter 27 of the book of Genesis. In his old age, Isaac calls Esau, his eldest son and his favorite, and asks him to prepare some delicacies for him in order to be blessed before his death. The sons' mother, Rebekah, hears this and acts quickly to That Jacob, her youngest and favorite son, will be the one who will receive the blessings. Under her instruction and guidance, Jacob impersonates Esau, thereby stealing the opinion of his father, who, due to the darkness of his eyes, thought it was Esau who was standing before him, and Jacob indeed receives the blessing.

Following the act, Esau harbored enmity towards Jacob and planned to kill him, and this became known to Rebekah. According to her instructions, Jacob fled to Haran, where he married his wives and where his children were born.

Jacob's Ladder:

Jacob went out from Beer-sheba, and went toward Haran. And he lighted upon the place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took one of the stones of the place, and put it under his head, and lay down in that place to sleep. And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven; and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it. And, behold, the LORD stood beside him, and said: 'I am the LORD, the God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac. The land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed.
