Up for sale is an ornately decorated candlestick made in the rococo style by Meissen.  This piece measures approximately 6 1/2" tall and the base is 4 5/8" in diameter.  On the base it is marked with a crisp crossed sword, no cancellation marks and incised numbers 394 and 38.

We have looked the piece over carefully and find no cracks or repairs.  Along the base edge there is a tiny glaze flake that is less than 1/16” across and on the underside of the base is a shallow chip that is about 3/8” across.  We believe that this piece may be a marriage because the cup does not have the blue border like the base.  Its surfaces are clean and bright with a little residue in the cup from use.  Its painted decoration is crisp and complete with little if any wear to the gold and blue trim.  See photos for more detail.
