1909, first complete edition. Luxury binding, in three-quarter vellum over cloth with a polished calf leather spine label, decorated with bright gilt floral pattern on spine and initials/date on front cover "A.A.B. & S.H.B. 12.4. 1860 to 12.4. 1910"--possibility something to do with the first edition coming out in 1861 and this being the 60th anniversary (?)--of course this could have just been a personal gift inscription or anniversary.  Pages gilded on top edge. 7.75 x 5.5 inches with 648 numbered pages.

Cloth on covers has some white staining and vellum has some occasional dark spots, but still looks great overall. Pages tightly bound, square and clean except some spotting around edges on first two pages and last page. Gilt tooling on spine has faded a bit on edge closest to front cover. Overall very good condition 114 year old book.
