Two
pieces of tapestry style material of same pattern stitched together with
separate pattern patch in the centre, the linear design is in pearl dots with
lozenge shapes the latter having pearl dot pattern flower head centres. Late
19th early 20th Century. Could be a church hanging from the late 19th/early 20th century, if the pearl dots are "genuine pearls" this will increase the value. The fact that this has two parts and a separate pattern centre would indicate that this has been made as a wall hanging from disparate parts. I purchased on the Island of Rhodes in 2012 and was told it was made from Roman theatre costumes. Dimensions: 43.5 in (H) x 74 in (L) x 0.1875 in (D) |
