Published by the U.S. Army Engineers-Nashville District in 1978, the book is hardcover, 8-1/4" x 10-3/4" in size, 329 pages loaded with a great text by Leland R. Johnson, a writer with a broad range of topics pertaining to Tennessee, in this case the history of the engineering and dam-building on the two largest and longest rivers in Tennessee: the Tennessee and the Cumberland. There are also full-color endpaper maps and lots of other B&W and color photos, illustrations, and diagrams. Of special interest to Tennessee Vols football fans in the section about Robert Neyland, most known today for his legendary coaching of the Vols football team (and Neyland Stadium), but in this book because he was a very successful Army Corps engineer before becoming a coach. 

The book is in Very Good condition: strong binding and a clean text. No bent/torn pages, smells, stains, markings, writing, underlining or bumped corners. Has just a hint of cover wear. It will be carefully packaged to insure safe shipping.
