Rare 1962 Bronze Medal American Society for Testing and Materials by Joseph Emile Renier, Medallic Art Co. This medal measures approximately 2 1/2" in diameter. The American Society for Testing and Materials was established in 1898 by engineers and scientists who sought solutions for breaks in rail lines. The work of the society led to the standardization of steel production for railroad construction. Today, the society is known as ASTM International.
