This exquisite circa 1850 Jewellery of Large Victorian pendant locket features a beautiful oval-shape 3 tier design Bohemian claret red pyrope garnet gemstones surrounded by 12 outer clusters of Bohemian garnets. In the rear is a Locket compartment holding a Hairwork bouquet. The garnet gold metal adds to the antique charm of the piece and in good antique condition. There is An original Bohemian Garnet cluster Bale at the top of the pendant locket.

The pendant locket is hanging from a 40” length Bohemian faceted garnet GLASS necklace .

This necklace & Hair locket pendant are perfect for adding a touch of Victorian elegance to any outfit.

The piece is part of my personal Victorian mourning & sentimental jewelry and is a perfect addition to any antique vintage jewelry collection. The item is pre-owned and in fine antique condition.

Garnets were permitted to be worn during the mourning period. So this could have been either a mourning or sentimental hair locket.

The Blonde hairwork bouquet of flowers in the rear locket compartment may be sentimental in nature. It was customary to carry a child’s hair with a mother, perhaps sisters entwined or other family members hairwork when they were separated physically.

People would collect hair from various family members & weave them into flower’s.

The large Hairwork LOCKET has retained its

original Bohemian Garnet cluster gemstone

BALE which finishes the look. These often

are missing~ fortunately not here!

the Bale

tiers

Gorgeous bouquet of weaved Blonde hair

worked flowers are under the rock crystal

glass . It appears to be 4 flowers

Locket Crystal is clean & in working order

Rose garnet Gold metal.
