This is a classic late 1970s, or 1980s all leather briefcase
This briefcase is fully functional and has YEARS of life left in it.....and what a classic look!!!!The case can be dated by the patent number and its issue date for the combination locking claspThe patent, #100775, was granted in 1978 (see pictures of the U.S. Patent office document showing THIS mechanism and patent info)Clasp works as designed....Combination works....and I believe it can be reset from the backside of the lock once openedCase measures 18" x 14" x 7"....all stitching is intact around the entire bag, no frays, no breaks no repairsIt has 3 divided compartments......and locks open to load or unload docuements, etc.Bottom of case has four (4) metal feet that help protect the bottom as well as support it when placed downReinforced corners on both sides, as well as reinforced handle attachmentsBoth handles are securely attached and leather grips are undamagedBrass locking mechanism and clasp show wear and age....scuffs and scratches to the brass and the finishOriginal owners initials are slightly embossed in gold just below the clasp...A.O.
