Vintage original U.S. Army OG-107 slant pocket jungle fatigue shirt from the Vietnam War era. The shirt is size Large-Long and is made of rip-stop poplin fabric. The shirt has subdued cloth patches and insignia, including Lt. Colonel (O-5) rank insignia on the right collar; infantry officer insignia on the left collar; Combat Infantry Badge (First Award) and Parachute Badge (“jump wings”) above the left chest pocket; Air Assault Badge on the left chest pocket flap; Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN) Ranger Qualification Badge above the right chest pocket; 101st Airborne Division (“Screaming Eagles”) patch, Ranger tab, and Airborne tab on the left shoulder; 173rd Airborne Brigade (“Sky Soldiers”) patch and Airborne tab on the right shoulder; Jungle Expert patch on the left chest pocket; and “U.S. Army” tape above the left chest pocket. The name tape has been removed from above the right chest pocket. A very nice example of a Vietnam War era U.S. Army OG-107 slant pocket jungle fatigue shirt. Item is from the estate of a retired U.S. Army colonel (O-6).
The slant pocket jungle fatigue shirt appears to be in excellent used condition with signs of wear and age, such as some loose, frayed, and/or “knotted” threads; some small spots; stitching holes and/or thread remnants above the right chest pocket where the name tape was been removed; perhaps two tiny holes on the right collar below the rank insignia where a price tag was stapled and perhaps two tiny holes at the bottom of the left placket where a cleaning tag was stapled (these staple holes may be difficult to see); “shiny” areas and spots, probably from starching and pressing; and some black marks or stains on the back of the shirt near the bottom center.
