1983 Fender Stratocaster Elite in Black finish

Produced only in 1983 and 1984 these guitar are quite rare.

The Elite Stratocaster was an effort to integrate active electronics into an upgraded Stratocaster design.  While sharing many elements with a traditional Stratocaster, the Elite used a different tremolo bridge, individual push pickup selectors and EQ-boosting TBX and MDX circuits. The Elite was only produced for two years, but the later Stratocaster Plus does share some features with it. 

Here for sale this 1983-84 Elite in Black finish. 

The serial number on this guitar does date it to 1983. 
However it must have left the factory in 1984 as the volume pot dates 18th week of 1984 which is probably when the guitar was assembled.  The Middle pot dates 1983, the week is covered by solder, it is around the 20th week as the 2 digit does show. 
The lower tone pot has all dates covered in solder. All the wiring looks original and untouched. 
The neck dates August 83 and is signed by M.Ibarra
The body feels like Alder which is probably what they did use on solid colours. 
Soft V Slim profile Maple neck with 21 Jumbo Frets on a 12” Radius fingerboard
43.2mm 0r 1.7” Nut width. CBS Logo on Headstock

The pickups are Covered flush pole Alnico II on all 3 positions and are selectable with individual on/off switches instead of the usual blade.  
Dummy coil between the middle and the bridge pickup. 
The controls are Master Volume, TBX, MDX (+6dB)

Chrome hardware: The tremolo system is a Freeflyte, die-cast with pop in arm. 
Elongated saddles, schaller/Fender tuners. 
White plastics and white F knobs with rubber rings. 4 Bolt Elite neck plate. 

In excellent condition throughout there is no major dings or scratches. 
Very minimal and light sign of use and general ware. 
The frets are in excellent condition and do show almost no marks. 

The guitar weighs 3.87Kg or 8.54Lb
Excellent player and great sounding Strat! 

Comes with a Fender period correct HSC and tag.
