Adjusting shaft for a vintage Delta 6” deluxe jointer

All new CNC machined threaded adjusting shaft for raising and lowering the front and rear beds on a vintage Delta 6” deluxe jointer.

The jointer model these fit is Delta #37-220.  This is the vintage Delta 6” long bed jointer that has the two crank-type hand wheels on the front of the machine.   The original Delta part number and name for this shaft is DJ-18 – adjusting screw.

This is the shaft that has the lock knob or set screw on the back side of the jointer and houses the brass locking bullets.

Only the shaft is included in this offering.  The bullets and lock knob are not included.

Many refurbishing projects find these shafts corroded or bent where the hand wheel attaches.  The shafts can easily bent during rough handling of this jointer and/or by the inadvertent bumping of the hand wheels. The weak point in the Delta shaft design is the roll pin hole and milled flat at the same location under the hand wheel.  We have improved the strength in this area by eliminating the unneeded flat for the set screw.

The photos of the shafts in this listing were taken prior to having the parts black oxide plated for corrosion protection and appearance.

We do that because all black parts do not photograph well.  Be assured the shaft you will receive will be black oxide plated.

These shafts are sold by the EACH.

Both front and rear adjusting shafts on the vintage Delta 6’ deluxe jointer are the same part number.
