This is a rare and historic piece of paper money from the Civil War era. The 25 cent note features a beautiful engraving of Ceres standing at left and is hand signed by M. Stevenson. Its unique aspects include a plate position of J, a catalog number of CR 150, and being hand numbered 309. This obsolete currency was printed by J.T. Paterson & Co. in Augusta, GA and was issued in Raleigh, North Carolina on January 1, 1864. The note is ungraded and uncertified, with the denomination of 25c and the phrase "25 Cts" in blue ink.
