Chinese Rhubarb is an ornamental (not edible) plant. It is a bold perennial with jagged dark-green leaves, reddish-green when young. It has tall stems of white, with pink or crimson flowers. It is large; growing to a height and spread of nearly two metres. It is a hardy plant although it's leaves wither away in winter and sprout again in spring. It is probably best to mulch over the base to keep off the worst cold. Sold here as sections of bare roots wrapped up in a bag for protection. You get two root sections with this order. To plant them simply dig a hole, place the root in it with the bud just showing above the surface, cover with soil, firm down and water.
