Rare & collectable 9ct gold fob medal relating to the Ancient Order of Druids & hallmarked London 1923 by Louis Simpson & Co.

The front of this attractive medak bears a raised shield on which is engraved the monogram of the medal recipient "GHC".

The obverse is engraved:

"LAWRENCE SHERIFFE LODGE 531. ANCIENT ORDER OF DRUIDS. PRESENTED TO BRO. G.H. CLEAVER IN RECOGNITION OF SERVICES AS M.N.A. APRIL / JUNE 1923"

Lawrence Sheriffe/Sherrif (1516 - 1567): A wealthy Tudor merchant who founded Rugby School. The Lawrence Sheriffe Lodge 531 of the Ancient Order of Druids is unsurprisingly based in Rugby.
