Boy Tending Cows While Blowing Horn

Description:  Charming blue & and creamy white plate with a scene depicting a young boy tending two cows while blowing a long horn outside in a field with a fence, mountains, trees and plants.  A banner is printed below and reads, "For a good child".  The outside edge of the plate has an early aesthetic design to it with flowers, greenery birds, butterflys and stylized branches that surround the rim. 

Maker Mark:  
  • An impressed or incised maker mark can be seen on both plates.  Very difficult to decipher.  It is a circle with a monogram in the center (M or W appears to be the main letter overlayed on other letters)
  • Verbage is impressed as well around the circle, but is also very difficult to decipher.
  • Could be made in England or Holland???
  • Please review our photos  --  We posted another listing for two plates with a young girl tending sheep and used the photo of their maker mark (which is the exact same as this plate).  It is more legible to read, but still undecipherable.
  • NOTE:  If you are able to make out what this maker mark reads, please let us know.  We would appreciate the help!!  We spent much time researching this pattern and mark to no avail.
Size:  Measures approx. 7-1/2" Diameter

Condition:  Pre-Owned.  Excellent shape for age.  No chips, cracks, repairs.  There is some very minor crazing on backside.  There appear to be a couple very small slight utensil marks, but nothing that affects the overall look of these plates.  Some minor manufacturer flaws can be seen. There are stains to be seen on both the front and back side of plate.  This set has been wiped off with mild cleaner.
