DIAGNOSTIC SERVICE for your Audi TT (8N) MK1 instrument cluster

We'll test your instrument cluster prior to any repair. What we test:


- LCD displays (all 3)

- Gauge operation and calibration from external inputs (note tacho signal is sent over the CAN bus so this gauge is calibration only test

- Backlighting

- Warning lights

- Indicator lights

- Power supply circuit operation including parasitic drain

- Various intermittent issues caused by bad solder joints

- Operation of cluster microprocessors at high and low temperature


We'll provide a report of issues found and the repair options available to get your cluster back to full health. Repairs authorised by you will be additional cost. This is a test and fault diagnosis service only.

Important information about your TT instrument cluster:


o It's not possible to swap in another new or used cluster without coding the cluster and / or the engine ECU as the immobiliser is in the cluster

o You can't drive the TT with the cluster removed (engine will shut off after 1 second)

o When re-installing it may take a few minutes for the immobiliser in the cluster to re-sync with the engine ECU. Leave the ignition in the 'on' position for 5 to 10 mins to re-sync (attach a battery charger to car's battery if needed)
