Description:


First edition of this profusely illustrated part-work, bound in two volumes, originally the property of historian John Patrick Tuer Bury (1908-1987). Bound in half leather and cloth-covered boards, with gilt title and decoration to spines. Bindings remain sound with some wear to extremities, small loss to spine ends. Marbled endpapers with ownership inscription to verso of ffeps (see above). Text-blocks sound with pages generally very clean and tidy, just a little light foxing and other minor marks and blemishes in a few places.
