Here is a bowl with some interesting history.  This was presented to the third place finisher in the 1945 Invitational Mile at the 74th Armory in  Buffalo, NY.  This race featured two of the top milers in the world.  It was run on the 31st of March of 1945 and had Jimmy Rafferty of the NYAC as the main draw along with the top Swedish miler Gunder Haegg.
Bought this from a Phoenix estate about 3 years ago.
This bowl has the engraving shown in the photos.  It was made by Gorham in their Frontenac pattern of hollowware.  It is 6" in diameter, weighs 129g and is in very good condition.
