PiezoBarrel® 'Wood' Pickup and 4 meter cable with brass neck and mouthpiece adapters for Bass Clarinet
Note - only the pickup (microphone), cable and adapters with blocking screws for neck and mouthpiece installation are supplied (Type B, D and E). Mouthpieces and necks shown are only used to show how the supplied adapters may be installed. No necks or mouthpieces are included in this listing.
The PiezoBarrel® 'Wood' is a professional saxophone pickup that can be used with a bass clarinet to provide high quality natural sound and to drive guitar effect units for live performance.
This pickup comes with a brass adapter for soldering onto a bass clarinet neck as well as adapters for installing in a mouthpiece if you prefer not to alter the bass clarinet neck. For neck installation, the supplied adapter is soldered onto the neck and then a small hole (2 - 2.5mm diameter) has to be drilled into the bore of the instrument neck in order to pick up the sound.
Included:-
- PiezoBarrel® 'Wood' Clarinet Pickup
- 4m long 3.5mm to 6.3mm shielded cable to plug in to standard 6.3mm (1/4 inch) line or instrument socket.
- Small Phillips screwdriver to adjust output level.

- Spare Brass threaded adapters supplied to attach pickup to sax neck or on a mouthpiece (parts for both options are supplied).
- Manual is available from PiezoBarrel® as a PDF file but eBay messages and emails do not allow file attachments. See photos to see manual contents.
Features:-
- Pickup screws in to the instrument with a M6 x 1.0 standard metric thread.
- Pickup connection is a standard 3.5mm (1/8th inch) jack/socket.
- Compatible with other instruments such as saxophones.
- Provides high output
- High signal to noise ratio
- Does not require pre-amplifier
- Output voltage is adjustable between zero and full output voltage so it will work with devices expecting small microphone level signals.
- Suitable for use with Guitar and instrument (Line Level) inputs (or Mic level inputs using output voltage adjustment or a DI box)
- Low feedback. As the pickup is built in to the instrument, external sounds have very little impact on the output signal. This makes the pickup particularly desirable for live performance.
- Can be connected directly to mixers, recorders or guitar amplifiers as well as standard Guitar effect pedals and loop stations.
- Reproduces the natural sound of the instrument.
