We went through several jars of pennies that we have collected over the years.  The oldest penny I saw in this was a 1922.  Nothing is newer that 1982.  Out of the thousands of pennies we went through, maybe 5 or 6 were from the 20s, a few more from the 30s, a few more from the 40s and 50s, a lot from the 60s and 70s and 80-82.   We pulled out the 1970 s pennies we saw.  Nothing else was removed.
