POSTER STAMPS SPORTS MOUNTAINEERING CLIMBING ALPINISME ESCALADES MONTAÑISMO CHOCOLAT TOBLER

This is a marvellous set of 12 poster stamps (n. 325 – n. 336) edited by Swiss firm Chocolat Tobler. The set represents series n.28 published by Tobler in the middle 1920’s and relates to mountain climbing.

The stamps with text in English were inserted inside the chocolate plates between the wrapper and the aluminium foil for children to collect them.

The collection is complete which add to the extreme difficulty of having all of them stay together after almost a century of age. The stamps are made of-thin paper with dimension 1.6 x 2.2 inches.Traces of difficult readable text on the back of the stamps.

From top to bottom and from left to right:

A rock chimney in the Alps of the Valais – The Ziller valley –Villnöstal in Tyrol – Wilde Kaiser in Austria  - Monte Rosa – A tour on a glacier – Cutting steps in an ice field – the Matterhorn or Mt Cervin – The Titlis glacier – Crossing over a snow bridge on a glacier – The white Monk and the Eiger – Walls of snow on the Grossglockner.

This article is in good conditions as illustrated in the picture shown.
