Here for the American Girl Doll collector is a GORGEOUS 1986 American Girl Doll Kirsten in her original burgundy box with ribbon, first edition book, hand tag and brochure. She is in excellent condition. The large lettering Pleasant Company and the copyright sign are stamped on the back of her neck in the early arched style. Long flat neck strings are intact. White cloth body is the chubbier early version. There is a small rust-colored stain on the front of her torso that seems to be common in these older muslin fabrics. She has no other marks or stains that I can see. Limbs are still amazingly tight after more than thirty-five years! She stands and holds a pose independently. Long blonde hair appears to be still in the original braids; however, the original rubber bands are no longer in place. She still has her hair pins intact in her hair, although they have discolored with age. She has the gorgeous turquoise blue eyes of the earliest Kirsten dolls that were never duplicated in later dolls (there is no silvering). Please note: the last three photos of her eyes were taken in natural lighting. Soft brown eyelashes are intact and curl up slightly. She has beautiful facial coloring! She comes wearing her meet dress with the paper tag that reads "made in West Germany 1986," white pantalettes (elasticity is lost in the waist), stockings and brown boots. Her box with the ribbon trim is the first edition box and shows some wear from storage. A very RARE Kirsten! A wonderful gift for that special collector!
