A decent, sound and textually complete early Geneva Bible. Occasional marks, reading wear or small paper blemishes. Half a dozen leaves with small tear or minor paper losses. Some toning, occasional water marks else generally a good, sound copy.

Early Geneva Bibles are all becoming rare.

With an incomplete Book of Common Prayer at the front and Psalms at the close.

At the close there are some very early MS signatures and family history. As early as 1619 there is a signature ‘Charles Gibson, the sonn of Samuell Gibson was borne the sixteen daie of September in the yere of oure Lord God, 1659’.

Could this be Samuel Gibson the Westminster Divine?  Worth some research.

Other signatures dated 1619, 1666, 1673, 1755 and 1690. Some nice history for research.

Bound in early reverse calf.

Re-backed sometime in a lighter calf. Paper label with typed lettering ‘Breeches Bible, Barker, London 1582’.

Some rubbing and corner wear else sound enough.
