Charles and Ray Eames EMERSON Table Top Working Radio RADIO Model 578A

EMERSON RADIO Model 578A. The cabinet design is by Charles and Ray Eames. Originally sold starting in 1946. Features five vacuum tubes and AM Frequency (no FM). The cabinet was made by the E. Ingraham Co. Who were noted for the formed plywood cabinets and cases for numerous electronic companies. The radio has two original Bakelite tuning knobs for the volume and frequency tuning (dialing). The face plate is lucite. The tuning dial is a sliding gage that is lighted so you can tune in your favorite BIG BAND when the lights are low.

Condition is very good. Complete with no cracks or breaks. 
The finish is a medium brown.

It measures: 9.5" w x 6.5" h 5.75" d. 
Perfect for the bookshelf display.
