You are bidding on a vintage original 1936 Banner & Pot Pourri, Freshman Edition yearbook, from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. Also included is an instruction pamphlet for graduating students dated 1939. The freshman edition has individual photos of the incoming freshmen, who would be the graduating Class of 1939. There are also many photos of clubs, sports teams, activities and campus buildings. Some notable individuals pictured in the book are William Warren Scranton (individual senior photo), who would become the 38th Governor of Pennsylvania and the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations; Cyrus Vance (in a group photo of the Freshman hockey team), who would become a lawyer and the U.S. Secretary of State under President Jimmy Carter; and Robert Taft, Jr. (in a group photo of the Freshman football team) who was a member of the Taft political family and served as a U.S. Representative and a U.S. Senator from Ohio.

This 88-year-old book has a tight binding with no missing, torn or loose pages. The original owner's name (Stuart Durwood Holland) is handwritten inside the front cover. There is no other handwriting, underlining or highlighting. The cover has some wear with scrapes, scuffing and bumping, mostly at corners and edges. The hinges are intact.
