Excellent- Near Pristine 1950s Stetson 10X beaver, Dark Gray, Stratoliner bound brim edge,  fedora. It has a size 7 tag but it’s measuring to a 6-7/8+, back then there was NO size Standardization. It is perfectly shaped! It’s a real looker!

You can see that this is an early 1950s Stetson because there is a plastic overlay on the liner.

Though this doesn’t state Stratoliner on the hat but you can see that beautiful Bound brim edge. The Stratoliner have that exact same bound brim edge.

As we were looking through dad’s old dead stock extras, dad has decided to add as an option ($10 extra but you must write to us first) a 1960s NEW black coat trolley string. You can see these on dad’s other listings. It’s very elastic and can be sewn to the hat by any decent tailor. Or it’s could be left just as a decoration? There’s extra length left at the end so it can be sewn to the hat. If you just want it as a decoration you can easily trim the extra string off so it looks perfect.

This is a dark gray  color as seen in picture of the whole underside is the best representation of the color. Not sure why we can’t get the color to always come out consistently? Anybody out there has any suggestions?

This was cleaned and shaped by my grandson and dad! This looks great with a perfect dip in the front. He’s been working with dad over the last couple of years and now wants to find hats for others, he wants everyone to wear hats and here is his contribution to that cause!

PLEASE READ THIS!

NOTE: that Stetson oval box is not included in this sale. It’s in very poor condition! With no hat holding insert set and a broken bottom.

The beaver is very very soft and thick. We took out dad’s collection of 1950 Stetson Beaver hat, 3X 10X, 15X, 20X and the TwentyFive. This best matches a 10X Beaver. This is a very nice higher quality hat that could be an everyday hat. This is extremely soft and pliable and can easily steamed into any shape or style you desire.

The perfect teardrop crown is all original to this hat! Dad added a perfect drop on it. Dad steamed The shape and form is excellent!

This is a hat folks will notice! Not many folks will have this one.

Details

There is a size tag that states size 7 but we actually measure each hat 3 times to verify its true size. This is a size 6-7/8+ at 21-6/8 (3/4) inches. A true 6-7/8 measure to 21-5/8 inches so this is just a fraction under a perfect size 7. This could easily be stretched by a $14 Amazon hat stretcher to a perfect size 7, but NO a larger! We know there was no hat sizing standardization until 1970 with the Tilley hat sizing chart, still in use today.

Size 6-7/8+ or 21-6/8 inches or 55.4

Length 11.6 inches

Width 10.25 inches

Height 4.8 inches at the tallest point

Matching Black Grosgrain ribbon 2 inches

Brim 1.95 inches, including bound edge, it a fraction under 2 inches, just a fraction though!
