Complete four volume set of "the smallest books in the world"
Munich: Waldmann & Pfitzner, 1950. First thus. A complete set of four micro miniature books, each measuring 5x5 mm, various gilt tooled leather bindings. Each housed within a plastic magnifying case and set within red silk pillow interior of a plastic box. On the box lid interior reads the title as written above, in gilt, plus the titles of each of the four books in German. Fine with minor soiling to clamshell box. One of the plastic hinges on the lids encasing a book is broken.
From 1952 to 1964 these were the smallest books in the world. Captivating little set of micro-miniature books, with the printing in various languages including English, French, German, Spanish, Russian, Arabic, etc. The books are titled, I Love You; The Lord's Prayer; The Olympic Oath; The Oath of Freedom.
