We're a business seller and have sold hundreds, maybe thousands of pairs of DM's over the last 15 years but I've NEVER seen this design before!

The boots are the vintage, standard 8 eyelet purple matte with yellow stitching that were made in England - already a very rare pair of boots. We can tell by the product code they were made between '86 - '89 (I think - if you're a DM specialist I'd really appreciate any info on this model - they must have a specific name!)

What makes these so different is that at the factory they've sprayed half of each boot in grey. We can tell this was done at some point mid way through the construction as the grey paint is only on the leather, not on the metal eyelets. It could only have happened in the middle of the manufacturing process! I've tried to show this in the photos bit they're basically;

Left boot - purple on the outer/left hand side, grey on the inner/right hand side

Right boot - grey on the outer/right hand side, purple on the inner/left hand side.

They were obviously sprayed by a professional as the grey and purple blend perfectly - no distinct colour change! A really unusual pair of boots and I suspect they were  made this way to coincide with the music scene of the time - I'm old enough to remember when Acid House and raves were a new thing - these would have fitted right in!

Difficult to price as none have ever turned up for sale anywhere, ever. Trending price on a plain, made in England purple pair is £140 so these have to be worth a tenner more at least! If you disagree and want to pay more get in touch! (That was a joke - I'm open to fair offers so get in touch)
