This porcelain figurine appears to be inspired by a monument by Italian sculptor Angelo Balzardi (1892-1974) which is a tribute to the Infantryman erected outside the Infantry School of the Italian Army in Cesano (Rome), inaugurated in 1969. The statue represents a soldier from the First World War and is celebratory of the role of the Infantry in the Italian victory in that war. The original sculptures are in Turin (1961), Gorizia (1966), and Cesano di Roma (1969).
On the base is written:
1) "fortior ex adversis resurgo" (translation: I rise stronger from adversity).
2) "Scuola di fanteria" (translation: Infantry School).

Condition: the end of the gun is broken, it has several imperfections/ rough spots on the porcelain, and crazing due to age; considering its’ age it is in very good condition as pictured. Sold as preowned and as pictured.
Size: approximately 8 1/2 x 3 x 3 1/4 inches.
