The digital code was checked by entering it at www.vudu.com without being signed in and then seeing that the subsequent screen was a request to log in rather than a message that the code is invalid or unknown.  In my experience, this suggests that the digital code is still valid, but it is by no means a guarantee, and the code is subject to expire at any time.
