(PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTOR BEFORE BIDDING) This auction is for a never displayed, 1992, Warner Brothers studios, “Batman, The Animated Series”, genuine hand painted, framed production framed on background from the animated television series episode entitled “Be a Clown”. Featuring the Joker.

The copy on the certificate of authenticity on the back of the frame reads:  “Classic Animation is the art of bringing to life single drawings to create the illusion of character drama and movement. The original animator’s drawing is transferred onto an acetate cel (either by hand-inking or photocopying). The cel is then flipped over and individually hand-painted on the reverse side. Thousands of animation cels are required to create just a few minutes of film. Each cel is truly unique.”

“The lore and legend of BATMAN have been told and retold in comic books, on television, and in motion pictures. Now, from Warner Bros. Animation, and a creative team who grew up with the exploits of the Dark Knight in all media, comes BATMAN: The Animated Series. Premiering on American television in September 1992, the richly-produced series possesses the same mystique, “Dark Deco” look, and bizarre villians that epitomized Warner Bros.’ successful films. To some, he is merely a legend. To others, he is a dedicated, driven avenger. And to criminals, he is their worst nightmare. He is… BATMAN.”

“Mayor Hill’s son feels overlooked and unloved when his father throws him an elaborate birthday party that is more a political media even than a real celebration. Meanwhile, the Joker infiltrates the party dressed as a clown in order to plant a bomb. The Mayor’s son, a budding magician, becomes so enamored of the clown’s tricks that he steals away in the clown’s truck when the Joker leaves. When Batman tracks down the Joker to a closed amusement park, the wily villain plays on the kid’s naivety and uses him to trap Batman. In the end, Batman saves himself and the boy, and defeats the Joker atop a runaway roller coaster. Sadder, but wiser, the boy returns to his father, who now realizes how neglectful he was of his son’s feelings.”

Comes with its removable certificate of authenticity and care instruction sheet in a clear sleeve on the back. This is the Warner Bros cel ID Number 13054 from the episode.
