Butterfly pea is a species of the Fabaceae family. 
This decorative climbing plant is originated to the equatorial regions of Asia. 
Today it occurs in tropical areas around the world. 
Tea can be made from its dried flowers, and its blue flowers can also be used to colour dishes. 
Its young pods and leaves are also edible. 
This plant is used in Ayurvedic medicine and also in traditional Chinese medicine.
