Rare 1930 Das Zauberboot Tom Weidmann-Freud Movable Illustrated Children's Book
Original color pictorial paper covered boards, 12 pages, 1930 edition. Famed for its innovative illustration and compostion, "The Magic Boat" has become a classic and sought after early 20th century illustrated German children's book. Fully illustrated in color throughout with several pull-tabs on individual double-moveable color illustrated devices with a moveable round hub reveaing rabbits and hedgehogs and cut-out stencil paper. No transparent red tracing paper. Benjamin describes this book as "the most beautiful of all new children's books". It has some age wear, spots and marks on outer cover boards. A few pages have some minor discoloration, one page has a small rip on the bottom. Inscription from original owner on front inside page. Overall an excellent example of a unique and hard-to-find book.
