Blue Iris

Water Iris, with blue flowers, with leaves that are are reeds. Flowering in the summer, unaffected by frost. Plant in sun or part shade. Can be grown in moist soil conditions. These beautiful irises thrive in a wide range of soils from acid to alkaline. Flowers are a stunning purple-black. Height 60 to 100 cm. Plant with water depth above soil of up to 6" 15cm
You can reduce the depths of your margins by sitting the planting baskets on concrete blocks or similar.
You will receive a young plant around 6"-8" (15-20cm) high, with some leaves and will be sent in it's rooted form to save on postal costs. It will require potting on receipt.
This plants can be planted directly into boggy areas or into the bottom of
lakes/ponds. If there is a liner, we
suggest using a water planting basket. Use aquatic soil,
topped with heavy gravel or large stones. Alternate ways can be offered if you
contact us.
IMPORTANT
NOTE: the plants are supplied in their rooted form. They will be young
small plants, approximately 2" - 6" (5 - 15cm) long (note that picture shows mature plants) and may only have
short leaves off the rhyzome/root (generally winter time), depending on the time of year you are ordering. Contact us if you need to know the size of plants before ordering.
