This umbrella folds and extends fully, with smoothly working snibs in top and base position.

The crook handle is of whangee bamboo.

There is some wear as seen, and a possible moth hole.

The weave of the material changes at the edge of the canopy to give a firm finish.

The colour is black indoors, though in bright light it looks paler, and the photos make it look less black.

....

There is a stamp on the band above the handle.  It is part worn, and the rest looks different from reference material for gold hallmarks..

The '18 ct' is very clear, so it says any gold is18 carat.

Then there is a 'P.', a P and a dot.

Then there is a worn character which might be a 'G'.

It is possible that it says ' P.G ' and that might mean ' gold plate '.  Usually the stamps say ' G P ' for gold plate.  It is not magnetic.

The ferrule base of the stick has the same looking metal embellishment, without a stamp that I can see.

....

It might be from the 1920s back to the latter 1800s.

Please take as seen.
