Tomato Ukrainian Purple 20+ Seeds
Introduced in 1980 from the Ukraine. Plum shape, 3-5 inches long, 4-7 oz. fruit. Deep purple red, very colorful (makes it ideal in salads). Does not crack or have black shoulders, blemish free skin. Outstanding flavor, sweet and juicy. Very productive, indeterminate. 65-75 days from transplant. Good market variety as it holds up well and has wonderful flavor. Uses:salads, sauce, salsa, canning. Purple Russian Tomato is called "a Tomato worth living for...excellent" by Amy Goldman in her book The Heirloom Tomato. My grandfather used to wrap each individual Tomato in newspaper, then pack into boxes, and store in the basement. Do not store Tomatoes in the fridge, as this diminishes their flavor.
