~~~Please understand you are buying a My Child Doll Outfit, NOT my featured doll model. *Shoes, socks and doll are NOT included in this listing!~~~I always show my outfits on a My Child Doll model so that you know how it will fit your doll. It is very time-consuming to do it this way, but I know how disappointing it is to purchase an outfit and not have it fit the way you expect.~~~
**My Child Doll Dress Set**
~~ABOUT THE OUTFIT~~
This listing includes:
*This DRESS (as pictured). As with all my dresses like this it features a fully lined bodice. It features short puffed sleeves with self ruffle. Back closes with resin snaps.
Your purchase of my outfits is an investment in an heirloom-quality piece that withstand the test of time through display, use or a child's play. Although most of my outfits can be used for play by a child (with removal of pinned accents), they are primarily geared toward the collector because of fussy detailing. No details are ever overlooked. All of my My Child Doll Outfits are made with new, high-quality premium fabrics and materials. Bows are pinned with a rust-free nickel plated safety pin to allow for personal preference in placement or removal for cleaning. This dress comes with my own label sewn in so you know it is one of mine.
~~Doll, Socks and shoes are for modeling purposes ONLY and are NOT included in this listing.~~
Please, please, please message me with any additional questions, concerns or requests for more pictures.
About Me and my My Child Doll Sewing:
I started to learn to sew on my mom's Singer machine when she got a new sewing machine when I was 8 or 9. If you would do the math that is nearly 50 years! Yikes! I have experience in sewing many things, from Formalwear for weddings and proms to crafting gifts for the holidays,
I created outfits for my own daughter's My Child Dolls when they first came out in 1985, using patterns I adapted from Cabbage Patch and several others that were available from Pattern companies at the time. When I pulled my daughter's dolls out of storage and re-discovered these beautiful baby dolls on ebay around 2002 and then several years after that, realizing a collecting community, I started sewing for them again. I had joined a wonderful collecting group called My Child Workshop out of Australia by this time and connected with people from around the world there in that little corner of the World Wide Web!
Somewhere along the way I dropped most of my other sewing and hobbies and concentrated solely on this particular Vintage Doll Line.  I started by using patterns available through MCWS and some that were created from the original clothing by another collector, and I sold via another auction site as well as the collector group. (Facebook groups were not a big thing at that point, yet) I started to adapt those patterns to work for me and what I wanted to make available to others. Soon, I transitioned into creating a few of my own patterns and then creating one of a kind special commission sets that collectors were asking for. In the midst of sewing doll clothing, I also gave new life to some of these dolls by OOAK'ing them...usually with mohair and their very own special outfit. (You may see them pop up here from time to time or in some social media groups)
As my responsibilities got a little more demanding I left most of the "special orders" and went back into what worked for me--making My Child Doll outfits using the high quality premium materials and fabrics that have always been inherent in all my sewing.
So here I am, still sewing for these dolls when I can so I can dress your much loved collectable doll in something a little special.
If you've read this far, thank you. Thank you for taking the time and thank you for considering a purchase. Be well and enjoy your collecting and your dolls!
