The base and lid are in good shape.  The base was originally blue and appears not to have been repainted.  The lid was originally chromed, but the chrome is shot.  

This air cleaner body was off a 1965 1966 or 1967 Mustang and other Ford cars.

The snorkel is was not cleaned as that would destroy the spring  inside.  

As this is 50+ years old, there will be some scratches, tiny dents, surface rust, etc. somewhere on it, but it is not salt snow rusty.
