An iconic shape at an affordable price, Guild's Starfire I Bass is a modern adaptation of the traditional Starfire Bass platform and embodies the characteristics needed in a modern hollowbody bass. With a slim 2.4" body thickness, an inboard neck, a short 30 ¾" scale length and a 1 ½" nut width, the Starfire I Bass is a compact and accessible option for younger players or those seeking more freedom wish on stage. The Tune-o-matic bass bridge provides stable tuning and easy adjustability, and the harp tailpiece gives the bass a touch of Guild's classic aesthetic, comparing it to its upright ancestors. Guild's own BC-1 BiCoil pickups adorn the bass with hum-proof nickel covers and Alnico 5 magnets. Combined with the woody character of the semi-hollowbody tone and the volume and tone controls, these pickups allow the player to dial in everything from modern, cutting bass tones to woolly, round vintage tones. Pull the volume control up to reveal the push-pull vintage switch - a feature that adds presence with lowered low frequencies, reminiscent of the parallel pickup configuration of vintage hollowbody basses. Available with Pelham Blue and Vintage Walnut maple top, back and sides, and Cherry Red mahogany top, back and sides. The left-handed version is also available in Cherry Red. All with perfectly shiny polyurethane paint.
