lot of 5 BU , Brass, Copper & Nickel Silver, 38.6mm, plain edge mintage -1,000 Featuring King George IV Bust and the reverse featuring a crowned Irish Harp.
The coins have been made in Birmingham UK in 2001, using old coining techniques, near the site of Matthew Boulton’s Soho Mint. Some of these pattern pieces are featured in ‘UNUSUAL WORLD COINS’ catalogue by Colin Bruce, Krause Publications.
They are retro-dated 1830 so as not confuse collectors. The workmanship is outstanding especially on
the bust of George IVGreat addition to World coin collection.
