This wool is from Ruth a marsh romney with a gray fleece.

After I washed her wool I used Lavender, jet black and plum to 

dye her wool in a vinegar dye bath.

It was sent to a mill in Texas to be processed into roving.  

There will be bits and pieces of plant matter in roving. I do not use 

any defoliate to chemically remove plant matter.
