The 1st Watermark Die II 6d Blue Kangaroo was first supplied from stock on 11 January 1913 by J.B. COOKE. The 6d Blue was issued in Melbourne on 18 January 1913. They were printed from two Plates (Plate 1 - UPPER and Plate 2 - LOWER) each with 120-stamps-on in two Panes of 60 each in 10 horizontal Rows of 6. These marsupials were used as the 'Intrastate Parcel Rate' of the time and from the two known printings in January and November 1913, there were 10,080,000 1st Watermark blues printedThe AUSTRALIAN COMMONWEALTH SPECIALISTS' CATALOGUE "KANGAROOS" (ACSC 2021) lists this very scarce Australian as:

ACSC17a: “WATERMARK INVERTED" - 2021 CV$1,000

This example is really very nice indeed! It is well centered (a little high) with a lovely "PERTH WESTERN AUSTRALIA" CDS postmark. A few perforations at the top-left 'nibbled' but not detracting from the beauty or scarceness. Lovely colour as well. This is a lovely example.
Almost 'unobtainable' in today’s market. This is a very shy and elusive Australian marsupial in any condition. As always, open to genuine offers.
