This Fan Operates on turn switch. It has one speed on and off. I would say the one speed is fast. You can make it Oscillate or just stay in one direction by using the knob on the back bottom of the fan body. To change from oscillate to straight you loosen the knob and slide the bar to the middle of the round oscillator. Tighten the knob. This fan has 4 plastic blades. Metal fan guard and cast aluminum base and body. There are some scrapes, scratches, dust ware and paint loss. The worst part of the paint loss is to the back top fan body fins. See close up pictures #18 & 19 of the damage. Underneath the bottom base a former owner scratched some numbers to the base. You cant see them unless you turn the fan upside down.
