GRAF VON FABER-CASTELL HERITAGE ALEXANDER LIMITED EDITION 1898 FOUNTAIN PEN - M - NEW!!

Alexander was a captain in the Bavarian Cavalry and an aristocrat, not necessarily the best preparation for life as a merchant. He soon got to grips with managing the global business and in 1905 successfully launched the Castell 9000 pencil in his regiment's colour. This classic green provides the inspiration for the metal barrel of the “Limited Edition Alexander”, which is finely engraved and painted in the same green before several layers of lacquer are applied and polished. This process requires highly skilled craftsmen to retain the angular shape of the barrel and results in a subtle brilliance and depth which is complemented to great effect by the solid 92.5% Sterling silver accents.

The cap end is embellished with an engraved '"AOFC" monogram in reference to the couple who inspired this pair of very special pens.

With reference to the year of Ottilie and Alexander von Faber-Castell’s wedding, the fountain pens are limited to 1,898 pens each. There is no original box.
