Here is a very good Dedham Pottery milk pitcher in the rabbit pattern. Called No. 2 Pitcher, 1 1/2 pints in the catalog. It has good deep blue color and even crackle. It measures 4 3/4 inches tall, 4 1/2 inches in diameter, and 6 1/8 inches wide spout to handle. Marked with the blue ink-stamp (registered). It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, firing flaws, or repairs, just a little glaze crawl and minor indiscretions inherent in hand made pottery. Hugh Robertson was fascinated by Asian ceramics and glazes, in particular the Chinese oxblood red. This is Hugh's version of Chinese crackleware and was made to keep the firm afloat. He died in 1908. A good piece of authentic Dedham pottery. If you have any questions please click on our username or visit the store page and feel free to email through our website or call Jim Messineo at JMW Gallery.
